6K a year General Description:
The Swine Marketing Supervisor selects finishing pigs for sale by assessing body composition according to company standard operating procedures and estimates market hog weight to meet sales requirements while ensuring schedules are followed for the processing facility.
Key Job
Responsibilities:
Assesses pig body composition in finishing sites to project the sales of pigs according to marketing requirements.
Track market weights to identify the correct pigs to ship out.
Audit loads out periodically Identifies and marks pigs to be moved or sold to the appropriate destination.
Delivers load movement paperwork to necessary individuals/sites in a timely fashion.
Communicate regularly with the Swine Production Manager about group performance and provide data through reports and email correspondence.
Counts inventory and number of pigs scheduled for the sale, if needed.
Assists other team members to effectively meet department and company goals.
Trains fellow Finishing Supervisors and Independent Contractors (IC's) on marketing strategies and what each integrator expects.
Follow all bio-security, safety, and animal handling protocols and practices as outlined by the Company.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Education, Experience, and Other
Qualifications:
Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred 3
years of swine knowledge and exposure Bi-lingual preferred Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively manage one's time and the time of others in a fast-paced environment Strong written and oral communication skills Self-starter who is detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task Valid driver's license with satisfactory motor vehicle record Work Environment:
This role may be performed inside and have exposure to performing tasks in outside weather conditions.
This role may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles, dust and gases pending seasonality.
Physicality Requirements:
Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 Capable of climbing up ladders and over gates.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with the expected days of operation to be Monday-Friday.
Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
Regular travel will be required for this position which entails the utilization of a company vehicle.
